-Thank you to everyone who was able to complete the ICOM-US Museum Definition Survey! We received over 300 responses to the survey from members in 33 different U.S. states.

Congratulations to ICOM-US Board member Eric Dorfman who was elected to the Executive Board of ICOM in Kyoto!

New International Committee for Disaster Resilient Museums (DRMC) inaugural board was elected with ICOM-US Board Member, Diana Pardue as Chair.

We participated in the debate around the adoption of a new definition of museums, which is technically an amendment to the bylaws. The measure was tabled by a vote to defer action.

ICOM-US Co-Chair and Founding Director of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, Lonnie Bunch III, appointed the 14th Secretary of the Smithsonian, becoming the first African American leader in its 173-year history.
