ICOM-US had a great luncheon yesterday at the AAM 2017 Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo in St. Louis, MO. Thank you to our Keynote speaker Michael Conforti who presented on the ideal of collective stewardship of cultural property and the potential of international cultural exchange programs in an age of growing nationalism and global skepticism, one accompanied increasingly by institutional retrenchment. We are excited to explore how ICOM can play a role in keeping the ideal alive. Thank you to all of our ICOM-US members and friends who were able to join us!

At the luncheon, ICOM-US officially announced the new leadership changes to the ICOM-US Board. We are very excited to share that the new co-chairs of ICOM-US are:

Thomas J. Loughman
Director and CEO, Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art

Lonnie Bunch, III
Founding Director, Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture

Thank you to our outgoing co-chairs Elizabeth Duggal and Kathy Dwyer Southern for their outstanding leadership of ICOM-US and helping to grow the organization to what it has become today.
If you are in St. Louis, make sure to stop by and visit us at the ICOM Booth #2243!
